Combined B.S. & M.S.
(4+1) Program

This program is designed for outstanding undergraduate students and allows students to pursue a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Hospitality Management while completing their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Hospitality Management. Students may take advantage of the 12-credit overlap in the B.S. and M.S. degree programs.

The combined B.S./M.S. program accelerates completion of the master’s degree in a shorter time period. This program is for the Hospitality Management B.S./M.S. program only.

Admission Requirements

Admission into this program requires current enrollment in the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management at FIU. In addition, an applicant must have completed between 75-90 credit hours of course work with a G.P.A. of 3.2 or higher.

Applications for the 4+1 program must be submitted by the first semester of the senior year. See your academic advisor.

Required Courses – 33 Credits

Students enrolled in the 4+1 program may count up to 12 credit hours of graduate courses as credits for both the B.S. and M.S. degrees. The courses must be 5000- or 6000-level hospitality and tourism management graduate courses. For each of the graduate courses counted as credits for both B.S. and M.S. degree, a minimum grade of B is required.

Up to 4 courses (12 credits) may be used to satisfy both the bachelor’s and master’s degree requirements. Courses must be 5000- or 6000- level School of Hospitality and Tourism Management Graduate Courses and students must earn a grade of a B or higher.

Degrees Awarded

The combined B.S./M.S. program has been designed to be a continuous program. However, upon completion of all the requirements of the undergraduate program, students will receive their B.S. degree.

    Whether enrolled in online classes or attending on campus, Hospitality Management students learn from the same curriculum and must meet the same requirements for graduation.

    Combined B.S./M.S. (4+1)

    Obtain a B.S. and an M.S. degree in less time in the 4+1 Program. Currently enrolled undergraduate students who meet the credit and G.P.A. requirements may apply.
