John “Chip” Acierno III ’83, recognized as Chaplin School’s Distinguished Alumnus at Torch Awards Gala

        John "Chip" Acierno III '83 John “Chip” Louis Acierno III is an owner of the Executive Transportation Group (ETG) and directly responsible for sales, marketing, and customer service. Under his direction and tenure, ETG has grown into the largest business-to-business ground transportation provider in the metro New York City market. ETG provides service and does business with a majority of the Fortune 500 companies that have significant footprints in the city. Mr. Acierno graduated from FIU in 1983 with a B.S. in Hospitality Management, and his experience at FIU served him well in building the company from 200 vehicles to more than 1,500. He is also an award-winning thoroughbred owner and breeder of race horses in New York. Gabrielle Farms Inc., named after his daughter, has won more than 200 races since its inception in 2000. He currently resides with his wife of 30 years, Maria, in Scarsdale and Saratoga Springs, NY.

Seth Bramson, MS ’92, gives speech about the history of discrimination in South Florida

Chaplin alumnus, Seth Bramson MS '92, was honored at the home of FIU President Mark B. Rosenberg on March 8, where he gave a speech about the history of discrimination in South Florida. Bramson is a generous donor to the FIU Libraries, as well as a noted South Florida historian and author.  Other guests in attendance included faculty members from the history department, FIU Library staff and community members.
